Electroluminescence(EL) is an optical phenomenon and electrical phenomenon in which a material emits light in response to the passage of an electric current or to a strong electric field. It is a new generation product in global lighting and display industry. The Brightness per unit area EL increases with increased voltage and frequency.
EL can be full area lighting as backlight, also able to be with vivid animation for advertisement. It is the latest hot advertising material, and is matched with electric power supplier. It is of constant lighting, with animation, light control, and sound control, and produces novel and cheerful effect. Various flashing models can be designed according to customer's requirement.
EL Wire is a thin copper wire coated in a phosphor which glows when an alternating current is applied to it. About the EL Wire, to work under foundation of electric field, from the center to the outside there are respectively the first electrode(copper wire), lighting layer(EL Phosphor material), the second electrode(2 fine copper wire), and colorful plastic layer(PVC tube).
All EL products need the Inverter to power them. These inverters start with DC 3Volts, DC 5Volts, DC 6Volts, DC 12Volts or AC 110~240Volts power supply and then transfer the voltage around 100Volts and frequency around 800Hz that makes the Electro-Luminescent Phosphor in the EL glow brightly.
