A baghouse, bag filter, or fabric filter is an air pollution control device that collect particulates released from production or combustion process. Power plants, cemenet plants, steel mills, pharmaceutical producers, oil industry, food manufacturers, chemical producers and other industrial companies often use the baghouses or ESP to controltheir emission of air pollutants so as to meet the environment regulations. Baghouses came into widespread use in the late 1970s after the invention of the high-temperature resisitant fabrics ( filter media) capable of withstanding temperatures over 300° C.
